There is an event to comemorate Workers Memorial Day 28th April in Victoria Park organised by Portsmouth Trades Council. It’ll be at the Workers Memorial at 1200 if you can make it.
May Day March on International Workers Day Sunday 1st May for Public Services, Jobs, Communities, Education, the NHS, Pensions, EMA and Welfare Benefits!
Against the government making working class people pay for the crisis the big corporations and banks caused.
Following feedback from the last Anti Cuts march we have made this march a bit shorter. The route is starts at Victoria Park then down Queen St, along The Hard, St. Georges Rd, Museum Rd, Kings Terrace, Pier Rd ending up on Southsea Common opposite the Hovercraft Terminal.
The theme of the march is May Day! May Day! Save Our Services! Anything which makes the march more visual is very welcome. People are encouraged to bring musical instruments and food for a picnic on the Common.
Sunday 1st May. Assemble 1230 in Victoria Park (by the workers memorial). March to Southsea Common. Bring banners, placards, musical instruments. Everyone welcome.
